Fire Me Up A Pine Mountain Novel Kimberly Kincaid 9781420136555 Books

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again now, if Pine Mountain was real, my bags would be packed and the movers on the way to my new apartment there. I so want to move there.

With this fourth full book in the Pine Mountain series, Kimberly Kincaid finally give us the delicious Adrian’s story and it’s fantastic and so worth the wait. The author knows I have a fondness for her tattooed heroes and the man mountain that is sous-chef Adrian is not only hot and drool worthy, but a bit of a surprise package.

What I love most about these books is that they suck you in and make you feel part of the book. The author has a way of making you lose yourself in the story and characters that few authors can truly pull off. I’m addicted to Kimberly Kincaid’s writing, I admit it.

You will quickly guess that I have more than a bit of a crush on Adrian. I can’t help it. I have been falling for him over the last couple of books and this book sealed the deal. Damn you Kincaid for giving me another A named hero with tats. Love you for it though J Seriously, how can you not fall for him with lines like this….

“And I want to take care of you. Let me take care of you, Teagan.”

Okay before I get lost in an Adrian haze, I will move on. I adored Teagan. I loved how she was tough, no nonsense and determined, but under all that there is a tender side that seems to flourish with Adrian. It’s got to be tough being a paramedic in a male dominated field but she does it with style and grace under fire. Except when she has to clean the squad fridge which even squicked me out. A girl has to draw the line somewhere. Plus Teagan’s interactions with her dad brought a lump to my throat as she reminded me of times with my own father.

When an accident brings Adrian’s life to a screeching halt, let’s say he doesn’t take it so well. His home is in the kitchen and to not be able to be there is hell. How could his best friend kick him out of the kitchen? But when a food run leads him to a bar, the last place he needs to be, he finds more than food. Maybe much more.

Paramedic Teagan can face any trauma without flinching, but standing in the kitchen of her father’s bar makes her break out in a sweat. But she has to suck it up because she’s in charge temporarily and things at the bar have gone to hell in a hand basket. But help has shown up in the form of the hot chef that she attended to at his accident. Maybe fate has found a way to help them both.

When an offer to help Teagan with the kitchen lands Adrian in a kitchen again, albeit in a totally different capacity than he’s used to, more than the food starts to sizzle. The chemistry between him and Teagan is strong and while they try to fight it, their bond just grows stronger till they give in and heat up more than the kitchen. But when a threat to the bar and Teagan emerges, all Adrian’s protective instincts roar to life and despite the fact that he shouldn’t/can’t be there, he can’t walk away from Teagan either.

“I’m yours right back, Red. I want you so much.” Teagan’s lips curled into a smile, and nothing in her life had ever felt so vital or so flawless. “Then take me,” she said.

As they work together to raise money to save the bar and Teagan’s father in the process, they start to fall for each other. Hard. But can the threat hanging over both their heads and past hurts stop them from being together when they clearly are meant to be or will taking a chance lead them to a life filled with no regrets and happiness?

We also get glimpses of the past characters in Carly, Shane and Jackson on top of a surprise from one of them. I may have squealed with joy when I read it.

I loved how these characters grew and changed through this book. I knew Adrian had an interesting backstory and boy was I right. But it just made me love him more. Teagan is one hundred percent perfect for him and him for her. They bring out the best in each other and I loved reading it. Superman and Red for the win.

I need to do a re-read soon as I’m craving a bit of fresh Pine Mountain air. I’m a huge fan of this author and she knows it. But if you love small town romances then this is the series for you.

Fire Me Up A Pine Mountain Novel Kimberly Kincaid 9781420136555 Books Reviews

Fire Me Up is Kimberly Kincaid’s fourth Pine Mountain novel. You don’t need to have read any of the others in the series to enjoy this book. However, if you are new to this series you will want to read about the other residents of Pine Mountain when you finish this one.

Adrian Holt is a chef with a past. Teagan O’Malley is a paramedic overwhelmed with family problems. The two met when Adrian is in a motorcycle accident and Teagan responds to the scene. Because of his injury Adrian must stay out of the restaurant where he works, Teagan needs help with her father’s pub. Teagan’s father has both health and money problems. Adrian is going crazy not being able to work and Teagan knows nothing about how to run a kitchen. So Adrian offers to help her learn how to run a kitchen. When these two get together things definitely get fired up.

I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.
From the moment I read the first book in the Pine Mountain series I've been waiting anxiously for Adrian's story. He's mysterious, sexy and a total bad boy. Through this book Adrian is not such a mystery anymore and as I learned more about him I love him even more. Though he's stubborn he' super protective and loving. He's a take charge kind of guy which ends up helping Teagan throughout the story. Teagan is tough as nails yet she can't stay away from Adrian. With her family bar at risk the two work together to keep it from going under. When smoke turns to flames Teegan doesn't want to get out of the kitchen. Adrian is a smoking hot chef who is willing to do anything to save the bar and win the girl's heart.
As a paramedic, Teagan can handle anything. But when faced with her dad's illness and floundering business, she finds that she is in way over her head. With no cook and even less employees than needed, she must face her demons and enter the kitchen to save her dad's bar.

Sexy sous chef Adrian has been going for weeks, running on fumes. When he is in an accident on his motorcycle that could have been so much worse than a broken arm, his life changes irrevocably. Six weeks off with idle time doesn't set well with him. Walking into the Double Shot Bar and Grill, he finds new meaning to living his life with no regrets.

When Teagan and Adrian stop fighting their intense attraction and finally give in, they are combustible. But when a new threat enters the picture and threatens Teagan, Adrian will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if it means losing her.

I loved these two. Their sexual tension is off the charts, and the playfulness they bring to each other is refreshing. Love, love, love this series and this book!!
This was my first time reading Kimberly Kincaid, and I liked it. I didn't love, love, love, it, and I haven't been inspired to search down all of her other titles, but it was a good, quick read with lots of heat both in and out of the kitchen. Adrian, our hero, is a chef who defines himself through his relationship with cooking, and Kincaid's descriptions, via Adrian, were beautifully conveyed, certainly making this "throw whatever together" cook feel more than a bit inadequate. Adrian falls reluctantly (baggage, of course) in love with Teagan, an EMT, who HATES the idea of spending time in a kitchen (more baggage, of course). Their hesitant relationship moves fairly quickly from simmer to boil, and the plot and the secondary characters were all enjoyable. I liked both protagonists but got just a bit tired of an overused line "Let me take care of you," but the story contained none of the annoying repetitive roadblocks so common in romance. The end of the book contained recipes mentioned in the story, and I'm actually eager to try one of them. It also included an excerpt from All Wrapped Up, and I'll certainly put that on my list of books worth remembering.
I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again now, if Pine Mountain was real, my bags would be packed and the movers on the way to my new apartment there. I so want to move there.
