I have read countless reviews on this series and it's been repeated over and over and over again. The idea for the story is good, but there are so many discrepancies and grammar issues throughout, it's difficult to have too much praise. Caleb and Sera's marriage was 800 yrs ago, then it changes to 600 yrs, then Caitlin travels back in time in book 4 and Caleb and Sera are walking around with their son. WHAT? The year is 1790. Sera is still human. Me's thinks the author needs to fix all this stuff. In book 3, Aiden tells Caitlin a vampire can make a baby with a half breed like her. That's why she became pregnant. He also tells her, it IS impossible however for a vampire to impregnate another vampire.
So...
In book 4, Caitlin mutters to herself, that when she meets up with Caleb, maybe they can make another baby. Say what?
Vampires cant make babies with each other. Cant have Caleb being human in 1790 either. Remember? He and Sera were supposed to have already been vampires for hundreds and hundreds of years. If thats not enough, the author accidentally refers to Sera as "Samantha" instead and confuses the reader. This happens multiple times. We see Polly refer to boys as "guys" in the year 1790. No one used the term guys back in that century. It is modern day slang.
Would love to know, how the wolf dog travels back in time and remembers "it all" as well. Then, Caitlin gets all sad on the dock and just flies away leaving faithful Rose behind? Im sorry, but scoop up your dang wolf. You left her there? "Hate leavin her behind, but she's got a connection with Jade" Really dumb.
Book 5 soon grabs your attention with a huge faux pas...Caitlin is sent back in time once again. This time its 1789. What does Caitlin say? She says she just spent time in 1791. A two year difference. Caitlin? You failed math dear. You were in 1790, not 1791. Eh!
Then, people walk around in 1789 calling others jerks.
No one used that word in the days of Marie Antoinete.
Book 6 has Caleb & Caitlins adopted daughter contract the bubonic plague, but in book 7, it magically changes to smallpox. Lol.
Unbelievable.
In book 8, teen boys called Caitlin's daughter a bitch. That word was not used to insult women until the early 1400's. The author also claims Jesus lived in 4 places, but left out one of them. Egypt. If I can find this information and do the research, why can't Morgan Rice?
There are too many typos and grammar mistakes to point out, but there are so many, it is clear the cost, time and effort were not put into this series. Why?
The books are cheaper then others, but if Ms. Rice had done this correctly and had a good copy editor point out timeline/ detail discrepancies along with the grammar problems and the multitude of typos, she could charge the normal $7.99-$9.99 for a book.
I almost feel the five bucks Im paying now isnt worth it. Fix the errors. You can still do that with Kindle. Any books in print no, but it's not too late to repair and edit Kindle books. It's a fabulous story idea, but all these mistakes make it very hard to continue...Even a self publisher can have editors. All this is unacceptable. I'm sincerely shocked at some of the 5 star reviews.
Let's repair the books and get them back out to the public. all your reviews will change...(even mine) and sales will go up, up, up..

The story line is decent however there are inconsistencies in the story. (The Golden Doors, Blake says they are pure copper not gold and then says she pushed open the heavy iron doors?!) Also there are several places the characters names had been mixed up or called something completely different. And there are very noticeable gramatical errors.
I do absolutely love the story, but it seems all the author did was to run it through spell check. Yes all the words are spelled correctly but there are a lot of places where you can tell the author decided to change something a tense or phrasing and didn't get all if the previous attempt out of the story. Other places the word doesn't fit the sentence at all. Or simple spelling errors where from became form. In one section he forgets the characters name and starts calling them something else. Seriously dude, get a proof reader. Heck I'd do it for free and still buy the books just to not have to stumble over his clumsy writing.
You can't read just the first one, and the first one is the best. Then and about 60% through the bag (erm, series), you think, ugh, I'm really sick of these but I just can't. stop.
Caitlin is a badass, and I genuinely root for her to find love, her father, the sword, the shield, and vengeance on the evil forces that want to keep her down. So, I've kept reading these for the entertainment value, plus I like her.
BUT... For the love of God, it's SIGHT not SITE. The typos are killing me. And Caitlin...though she is a powerful vampire, she is also a complete nitwit when it comes to love, which gets super annoying after a while.
I might be "full" after this one...not sure I'll read another.
I started the series and was enjoying it but slowly it is become as if the author had lost interest herself. Descriptions of location, fights, people are vague and not through enough. Fight scenes just seem to abruptly end. Proofreading is needed due to a lot of misspells and even stating a character but not that character is suppose to be talking. The 1st book caught me (it was free), I ordered the second ($.98) still good, 3rd and 4th ($4.99 I hesitated to buy these) and the story was eh, don't know if I will be continuing to read it all. Also the amount of money for the whole series is ridiculous, $45. If you buy a book they are the size of a harlequin book, thin and not the whole story is in it. The most it should be is $10. it is a book and not and educational book.
